Sitting on a porch at 1 in the morning I'm struck by the amazing awesomeness of God. I have no idea where I'll be in two days or what I'll be doing and God already knows and loves me despite the fact that I'll more than likely fail him in whatever I'm doing. I hate being human. It's aweful knowing that you will fail your amazing awesome God and knowing that no matter how hard you try to do your best it's still going to be like slapping him in the face. I don't know why God loves us but all I know is that he loves me.

The band mewithoutYou is an awesome band. They have some amazing lyrics in their song "The Soviet". The first few lines in the song go like this: "God is love, and love is real." I think those 7 words sum up the existence of God a lot quicker than anything you or I could ever say. I said this in house church the other day. When someone asks what the very essence of God is the answer to that is love. Imagine the love you have for the person or thing you love most on this earth. Then multiply those feelings by a couple thousand. The product of that equation is equal to just a fraction (if that) of God's love for us. And not just love he has for us. When you love someone, I believe that that feeling is God to some degree.

I don't know where this is going. All I know is that I think I might love this girl and I'm trying to work out what love is.
